Awards

Awards for effective creativity

Note: my name is reverting from Liz Holt to Liz MacWhirter, my maiden name, in 2018 when I remarry.

If you’re a client, you may not want to win awards – but you’ll want copy that works. All these awards give you confidence that you’ll be completely safe in my hands. You’ll know I’m rated as one of the best copywriters in the UK by my peers for copy across many sectors, for big brands and little businesses too. You can trust you’ll receive the best possible return on investment.

I love making a difference to clients – and I love writing. Take a look at some recent work and award winners in my Portfolio.

Since going freelance, my rate of wins has changed. This is for two simple reasons:

1) The first is down to the expense and criterion. Awards are very costly to enter and you have to submit multiple samples of the work. Agencies want to do this because the prestige of winning helps them attract more clients and the best art directors and copywriters. And because agencies employ their own permanent writers, I work primarily for design companies and direct clients.

2) I felt I’d proved myself in this way and wanted to focus on new things. I went freelance because I wanted to engage directly with a greater variety of brands and organisations (see my freelance client list) and enjoy opportunities to grow more as a writer. I’ve also completed a novel for young adults, Black Snow Falling, which has been listed for awards, and am currently developing a contemporary thriller.

I feel I’ll never stop learning. And my quality remains as award-winning as ever.
